Aquakidz is the second programme we offer where children will enjoy progressing through the Swim England National Plan for Teaching Swimming FUNdamental Stages 1- 7.By the end of the programme, swimmers will be competent in all 4 strokes in a relaxed manner.
Swimming will then be invited to join our Aquastarz or Rising Starz squad, or join a local competitive swimming club if this is the route they would like to go down.
We understand that not everyone wants to be a competitive swimmer so our Rising Starz squad will continue swimming development and will also introduce lifesaving skills.
Children will work towards swimming awards in the Aquakidz programme and criteria towards awards will be assessed continually throughout the term. Children will have the opportunity to purchase badges as and when they are achieved.
In the Aquakidz programme, we work on continuous progression and will let you know as soon as your child is ready to progress into the next class.
The lessons run for 30 minutes in the Aquakidz programme and have the following ratios:
- Non Swimmers and Beginners. A maximum of 6 pupils in a class*
- Improvers and Advanced: A maximum of 8 pupils in a class.
*In our Non-swimmer & Beginner classes we have helpers to assist the teacher if necessary.
